What: Direct Action to Defend Worker’s Rights and End Wage Theft
Where: Meet at Peace and Justice Center, 467 Sebastopol Ave., Santa Rosa CA
When: 5:00 Tuesday, October 30th
Why:
Servando Moreno worked for Henry Kim and his Casa Construction Company for six months, over the course of which $5985 was withheld from him in wages and overtime. The Sonoma County Solidarity Network (SoCoSol) and Servando have launched a campaign against Kim and Casa Construction to win back what’s owed to Servando. We use escalating direct action tactics to educate and agitate in support of our demands. This next step in our campaign is a protest where we will bring public attention to the many laws Kim has broken in his attempt to withhold what he owes to Servando.
Working people lose the wealth they create to people who don’t work every day, not just through wage theft, but in many other ways. SoCoSol seeks to fight back for justice in solidarity with working and poor people. When we join together, we have the strength to win.
Lastly, please give Casa Construction a call to let Henry Kim know that he needs to pay his workers what they are owed. Their number is 484-3808.
