We've had this beautiful and unusual pet pig for about five years now and he is WONDERFUL! He is not a pot belly or a regular farm pig, he is a Kune-Kune from New Zealand. WE moved him into our and his new home in town and someone must have called the animal control. We seem to be in violation of some zoning rule. Why did someone call the fuzz? He is loud and can easily be misunderstood as unhappy. He talks and walks around our 1/3 acre, gets lots of love from our children (and others!), and is very tame. This is certainly not his natural environment but traditionally (thousands of years!) Kune-Kune live in huts with the women of the village and are coddled until they get eaten! We did a TON of research and his pen is more than sufficient as well as his "lifestyle". My children are striken! What can we do? What are our options? Have you or anyone you know had experience dealing with zoning and Animal control? We really want to keep him but would be willing to move him not to far from us in downtown Sebastopol (for a yearly fee?).
