What a find this place is! And if it is really hot where you live, going to the beach at Pinnacle Gulch is the way to go. We went when it was 100 degrees in Santa Rosa and it was PERFECT at the beach! Josh took me here on our first date. :) You have to park at the Pinnacle Gulch trail head which is smack in the middle of this ritzy neighborhood on the golf course. The hike down to the beach is less than a mile and it is a pretty easy hike (unless your child refuses to walk and you must carry them). Once you get down to the beach, if it is low tide, you can meander to the South and hike over and around some rocks where the tide pools are. Past the tide pools you will come upon a large beautiful beach with cliffs in the background. We did it with my 2 year old. Not many people know about the beach so you may even have a secluded beach to yourself if you go. We had a great time splashing in the ocean, watching the Skim boarders in action, and we even saw WHALES (a lot of them)! How cool is that? What a great day! And we didn't have to spend a lot of money! Just gas and snacks! More info at https://www.sonomacountyadventures.com
