KPFA Election – Vote NO on Recall!

If you're a listener sponsor of KPFA 94.1FM you will be receiving a ballot in the mail. I urge you to vote NO! on the recall of Tracy Rosenberg.

When I was on the KPFA Local Station Board (LSB) I experienced the division at the station. The primary problem being a small faction of the paid staff who want to maintain control of KPFA. They appropriated the name of the original community based "Save KPFA" to gain the sympathy of listeners while spreading misinformation about those who truly want to save the station from a small group that would coopt KPFA for their own agenda.

As a member of the LSB, Tracy Rosenberg has worked dilligently to keep KPFA financially afloat after the financial disaster partly brought about by former LSB treasurer Brian Edwards-Tiekert, the primary instigator of this costly special recall election.

Don't be fooled. Vote NO! on the recall.

Re: KPFA Election – Vote NO on Recall!

I can't believe KPFA is having a recall election. It's as stupid as the recall in Wisconsin.

Can't we all just get along?... as Rodney King asked

I don't know much about the issues, but financial integrity is key to any organization. It seems that those bringing the recall don't like the cost cutting of recent months.

KPFA has some real marginal programming. They seem to subscribe to "the more radical, the better". I sometimes wonder what planet they are on. I listen frequently, and there's some great programming, but the squabbling at KPFA only reflects on the immaturity of those involved.

Then, can you, or anyone who opposes the recall, explain why such respected supporters of KPFA like Larry Bensky, Kris Welch, and Dan Siegel support the recall? I'm just trying to inform myself about the issues and do the right thing.
    thanks...

There's an excellent article by KPFA board member Henry Norr in the Berkeley Daily Planet on the recall.
