Subject: [dansc] Santa Rosa Food Not Bombs volunteers needed
Date: Tue, 02 Aug 2005 21:14:24 -0700

Joey Crottogini has been the foundation of Santa Rosa Food Not Bombs for
the past 4 years. For 4 years he has picked up food donations, his
kitchen hosted us every Sunday for two years, he has recruited and
showed the ropes to dozens of volunteers, he has been an endless stream
of wonderful and terrible ideas, if there was a ball that needed picking
up he's picked it up, and he's dropped a couple too. In September he
will be moving to Marin County to live with his Grandfather. He will be
sorely missed.

To fill his shoes we will need at least two committed long term
volunteers. We will need someone to do Sunday AM food pick up, and
someone to do Sunday afternoon serving break down. We also still need a
volunteer coordinator/recruiter and someone to act as liaison with the
Homeless Task Force. All of these have been bottom lined by Joey.

There are over 70 people on the Sonoma County Food Not Bombs listserve
and dozens more on the other lists I'm forwarding this to. I hope
someone steps up to take on these tasks. If this work goes undone after
Joey's departure Santa Rosa will lose a crucial illustration of the
brutal realities of capitalism and war and an active vision of the other
possibilities available to humanity.
