Non-profit installing solar panels for low-income home owners for FREE

Non-profit installing solar panels for low-income home owners for FREE

You can have solar panels installed on your home, at no cost to you, if your income is within the income thresholds identified below. Real Goods Solar is working in joint effort with the non-profit North Coast Energy Services (NCES) to install solar electric systems on residences of qualifying homeowners in Marin and Napa counties. This pilot program, funded by the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), is offered at no cost to homeowners. These systems are paid for by tax payers dollars. Qualification is based on the number of people in the home and current (within the previous six weeks at time of application) income.

    Number of People
    in the Home Monthly Income
    1 $2,482
    2 $3,246
    3 $4,010
    4 $4,774

In addition to income, the roof of the home must be less than 10 years old, must not be flat, and must receive good sun exposure. Mobile homes are not eligible in this pilot program.

For more information on this program and to request an application, call North Coast Energy Services at 707-463-0303 or Real Goods Solar at 415-755-8290. Mention specifically that you are seeking information regarding Solar for All California.

    Hi Robin,

Call 707-463-0303 or contact by email at [email protected]. This is a non profit organization, North Cost Energy Services, that recieved a federal grant to give these systems to low income homeowners. When you call they will send you an application. Complete the application and send it back quickly because this program is on a first-come-first-served basis and more than half of the systems cave been claimed. Good luck- I hope you get a free solar system!

This is a great program and it looks like I'm going to get a FREE solar system!

I'm also delighted to say that about 75% of the applications they are receiving are from people who saw it on WaccoBB!
