Rand Paul (son of Libertarian-Republican, Ron Paul) won his Republican nomination to the US Senate on Tea Party support and he is saying that condemning a British company for spilling petroleum in our water is un-American. A comedian couldn't write this stuff. Rand Paul contradicts himself to the extreme. How about: "BRITISH Petroleum fouling up the Gulf of Mexico as un-American?' Rand Paul is just like his daddy. If Paul is really worried about business then he needs to go talk to some Gulf fisherman, and other affected industries, and ask their opinion of BP.
Kentucky's Republican Senate candidate, Rand Paul, criticized President Barack Obama's handling of the Gulf oil spill Friday as putting “his boot heel on the throat of BP” and “really un-American.” I agree with Rand Paul that what Obama said was un-American because the boot should have been placed on BP’s posterior.
BP's lawyers are already filing motions to limit the amount of damages they'll have to pay later. This is not just an industry-wide problem because BP has an especially awful track record when it comes to safety and environmental damage. I can't comprehend how Rand Paul, or anyone, can defend this company. It is Paul that is being 'un-American' by defending a foreign oil corporation after the biggest oil spill in world history and attacking our government instead. If the oil spill had been a government-run operation, nobody would have said, "accidents happen." Incredible. Our administration is doing the right thing by defending American interests, families, and Gulf industries by making BP responsible. Who does Rand Paul work for? BP? Does he get kickbacks from them? Campaign contributions from BP? Maybe Rand Paul should run for election in the UK for the Conservative Party or the English Defence League
I wonder what these pro-business conservatives will tell American citizens of the gulf coast who have lost their livelihood due to this accident. BP should be sued out of business. All oil drilling should be required to use any and all failsafe procedures regardless of cost. Rand Paul is astonishingly wrong. BP cut corners to increase profits and should be made to pay.
Just like I have criticized many times before on this list: having a Libertarian-Republican as POTUS would be like having Bush on steroids. Rand Paul and his pappy are clear examples of this. Tea Baggers, Libertarians, and Republicans are all the same bunch. Why then are the most visible and successful Libertarians in public office as Republicans? Why then are the Tea Baggers (or Tea Partiers) coming out in droves to support the extremist Republicans, like Rand Paul and his daddy, Ron Paul?
