Where Community Begins:
Supporting Each Other in Creating the Lives, Relationships
and World We Want

Vision - We come together to create a group environment where we can be fully present with ourselves and each other; a place where self-acceptance, awareness, compassion and understanding can grow, moving us toward inner wholeness and manifesting our creative power - as individuals and as a group. It is a safe, nurturing place where we can experience a genuine sense of belonging, encouragement and support in becoming who we are - realizing our whole selves, and feel truly blessed to be members of a caring community.

Life is a journey and not always an easy one. Often times, we may find we are longing for a sense of care and support. By coming together and co-creating our group environment, we will experience what it is like to feel safe, respected, trusting, seen and heard, and encouraged to be our most authentic selves. We will come as we are and discover that we can be as we are, in our truth, and be accepted, cared for and valued.

What is Possible

By learning to communicate clearly and effectively, we empower ourselves to co-create an environment in which we can experience our emotional needs being met. This enables us to be more deeply and fully present with our selves and each other. It is this quality of presence that makes possible the process of inner exploration and discovery that leads to the healing of the unresolved experiences we carry, even those from the first years of life. Along with this healing comes the blossoming of our latent qualities and talents, enabling us to create the lives and relationships we long for and need.

New Ways of Being Together

We meet weekly for two- to three-hour sessions, and our process together evolves over time. We begin by learning communication skills and by doing a "community building" process that enables us to move beyond our judgments, projections and prejudices so we can develop a deep, inclusive sense of mutual knowing and trust.
As we grow in comfort level, we can begin to use body-focused approaches (e.g., movement) to facilitate our individual journey of self-exploration. We may also hold an occasional two- or three-day intensive to accelerate our bonding and growth work. Music and other art forms may be incorporated as they can expand and deepen our self-attunement.
Spending time in solitude focusing on our experiences in the group is strongly encouraged. This allows us to sort out what has come up for us so we can see more clearly what we might be ready to let go of and what needs to be expressed.
