Subject: Public Record Re-Opened & New Hearing Set!
From: [email protected]
Dear Concerned Citizen & Friend of Shollenberger Park,
In a surprising development, the Sonoma County Planning Commission
has re-opened the public record on Land Use alterations proposed by
the Dutra Group for their pending Asphalt Plant at Haystack Landing
and will hold a public hearing on March 5th to consider and make a
recommendation to the Board of Supervisors. Express your concerns
about altering the existing Land Use at Haystack Landing to allow for
the construction of this plant. This can include the destruction of
the Scenic Corridor, noise impacts on birds and park users,
industrial use next to a wildlife preserve and wetlands, toxic run
off of storm water, impact on fish ecology, etc. These are all
issues that could result from re-zoning and amending the General Plan.
Written comments submitted by this Thursday (2/26) will be included
in the packet submitted to the planning commissioners, but comments
will be accepted up to and during the March 5th hearing.
