    Make Cake in a Mug

Make this cake in 5 minutes!

You could be eating this right now...

You’re working at home and your mind starts to wander to snack possibilities. There are probably some prepackaged, good-until-the-next-millenium baked items in your cabinet, but you’re in the mood for something warm from the oven. Something chocolate. However, your work ethic is just strong enough to keep you from leaving the computer long enough to make something from scratch. Guess it’ll have to be another stale Twinkie after all.

What a terrible thing to say! Twinkies are never stale! They last nearly forever. They always look the same. And that taste, it's just ... always ... the same. And what do you mean by stale anyway? They're supposed to taste like that!

    -Jeff

PS. Actually, I think I've only eaten one in my life and I threw away the other half. They're really, really awful.

I made it! It was devoured within minutes by the three pesky small humanoids that have infiltrated my home and started calling me "Mom." Of all the nerve!

I remember many years ago when I was a member of the Cotati Food Co-op, someone nailed a Twinkie to the wall right by the cash register, and it stayed there with no apparent spoilage for a couple years or so, LOL!

    I prefer Hostess Cupcakes myself.

Not that it matters but, just for the record, "millennium" was misspelled in that post.

Re: Make Cake in a Mug

I remember eating Hostess cupcakes as a child...the occlusive layer of thick bland frosting, the shockingly sweet 'marshmallow' filling, the white squiggly pure sugar decoration. Why were my taste buds so easy to please back then?
I'm so glad to hear someone made the 'cake in a cup'. Thanks for the review, Wunda! I was going to try making it with less or no oil to make a lower fat version.
My dream is that someday we'll have a recipe for a low fat, raw, chocolatey, creamy dessert that looks fabulous and is good for you and can be served confidently to your foodie friends...that you can make in a cup in 3 minutes!
