Taboo Halloween Candy~ Children no eat!!

For those of you with little ghosts and goblins in your lives.
    :witch::actor::cowgirl:

Don't eat the chocolate coin candies!

The little chocolate coins are not safe for kids to eat this Halloween.

They are made in China and contain the Melamine that childrens deaths were related to recently!!!!!!!

With Halloween coming soon, pass this on to your family and friends.
Sherwood's Milk Chocolate Pirate's Gold Coins from China contain melamine.

It is true, Read the full story at the following link from Snopes: https://www.snopes.com/food/warnings/coins.asp

According to Snopes, the tainted "coins" were only sold in Canada.

Don't eat them because they taste awful.

I don't know how they make chocolate taste that bad.

My daughter doesn't even like them.

On a related note, I am sorry about all the fear around homemade goodies and whole fruits (i.e "razorblade" fears). How I would love to hand out fresh-baked cookies or tangerines! Oh well, guess I'll stick to organic lollipops.

p.s the conspiracy theorist in me says the razorblade stories were spread by the Snickers people, but I have no proof.

Most of those stories were just that: stories.

    Below from Snopes.com:

    Pins and needles and razorblades

I'd say if you want to make cookies, just do it, but make 'em tough little cookies that are less likely to turn into powder in one of those trick or treat candy bags.

I make individual bags of fresh hot popcorn each year for all the neigborhood kids. I go through 20plus bags each year.. plus ofcourse the usual candy garbage.. they love both. This year my daughter went through her toys so we will be giving out recycled toys (100 plus items), popcorn and candy too... Should be lots of fun. No parents have ever complained about the popcorn,, and I only give it to those I know. Even in the olden days when I was a kid,,, my parents were way perinoid about poison and or dangerous items in our halloween bags.. sad really.
    Happy Halloween,

    Ann
