i am a small part
of the bigger picture,
i dance the comma motionless.
the noisy gaggle of geese, returning overhead,
cool and stretch the skin of my arms,
which relax, gliding down to land.
the giant swaying limbs of ancient towers
are reflected in perfect detail within my hidden seeds.
in my tiny rapid steps,
i dance the social network
of complex urban passages.
in my open rounding gesture,
i flow in unctious swells
with whale, and shark.
asleep in my small bed,
i dream on high with elk and bear.
i hold the tender cells
which grow into soft downey blankets
of moss, lichen and fern.
i am the grey pelican moving out,
as i glide silent, linear,
over the sea of comfortable, smooth floor.
i am this small part
of this big story.
