    Featuring:

Aisha Jumaan, MPH, PhD., is President of the Yemen Relief and Reconstruction Foundation. Dr. Jumaan has over 30 years of experience in public health, including viral vaccine preventable diseases, cervical and breast cancer research, surveillance, maternal, child health and nutrition, primary health care, and women in development. She is currently working as an independent consultant coordinating health-related projects in Yemen, her native home.
Hassan El-Tayyab is the Friends Committee lead lobbyist on Middle East policy. He is convinced that advancing a more peaceful and diplomacy-based foreign policy in the Middle East is critical, not only for the family he loves, but for peace and stability worldwide. His writings and commentaries have been featured in numerous news outlets, including BBC World News, The Hill, Al Jazeera, The Huffington Post, The Intercept, and more.
Danaka Katovich is the Yemen campaign coordinator for CODEPINK. Originally from the Bay Area, Danaka moved to Chicago to study Political Science at DePaul University. During her college career, she spent her time building the youth peace movement in Chicago. Since 2018 she has been working towards ending US participation in the war in Yemen.
Haig Hovaness is the secretary of Green Party Peace Action. A retired information technology consultant, he has published a number of articles in support of the peace movement, most recently including Target Raytheon: Using the Divestment Weapon Against Arms Makers.

This month, people in the U.S. and around the world are demanding an end to the brutal U.S.-supported war on Yemen. Since 2015, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have waged war against Yemen, killing and injuring thousands of Yemeni civilians. After five years of war, roughly 14 million people are at risk of famine.

The U.S. has provided logistical and intelligence support for the Saudi/UAE air war and has provided billions of dollars’ worth of arms to Saudi Arabia. Moreover, despite Congressional opposition, the U.S. has continued its own direct military actions in Yemen.

President-elect Joe Biden has promised to end U.S. involvement in the war. However, a complete cessation to U.S. support for the war is unlikely to occur without strong and highly visible public demands for it.
