Amnesty International's yearly letter-writing drive is from now until 1/31. There's a decades-old quote from someone rescued by Amnesty International that I'm sure I won't get word for word, but the gist is: When I got my first letter, the beatings stopped; at 100 letters, I received the medical attention I needed; when I got a whole Post Office bag of mail, I was allowed to speak with my lawyer; and when the prison administration office was piled high with my mail, they sent me home.

write.amnestyusa.org/signup to write letters to, and on behalf of, seven non-violent political prisoners. If thousands of people send one letter for each prisoner, there's a good chance all seven will be released while they're still alive.
