Announcing the Main Street Relief Fund for Restaurants, Bars and Live Entertainment Venues

Sandra --
As Congressional COVID relief continues to stall, Main Street Alliance, with generous support from Crown Royal, is announcing the opening of the Main Street Relief Fund to support small businesses who host live entertainment and were unable to access federal aid dollars.
Right now, all over the country, America’s independent bars, restaurants, stages and local neighborhood spaces are in danger of disappearing.
Federal relief was not designed to support this industry, so Main Street Alliance has set up a direct support fund for small grants to make as much impact as possible for those not able to access federal relief. But we also know one relief fund will never be enough. That’s why we are working to drive longer term, comprehensive support through Congress, for all small businesses.
Why Live Venues?

Adversely impacted by the pandemic, these beloved institutions of community, places that bring us music and shape the heart and soul of culture need support to keep their doors open. To save our local restaurants, bars and venues we need direct financial support - that means grants AND public policy solutions.
Grant Details

If you are a small business that hosted live events up through February 2020, you are eligible to apply. Awards of $10,000 will be granted to small business restaurants, bars and live entertainment venues across the nation, with priority in the initial round given to businesses in Atlanta, GA, Norfolk, VA, Detroit, MI and Milwaukee, WI. Small businesses outside these target markets are still eligible to apply. Subsequent rounds will be announced in 2021. All small businesses in these industries are encouraged to apply, and will be eligible to apply for subsequent rounds if not selected.
Not a live events small business, but want to show support?

This relief fund was set up as a small support for many of the small businesses unable to access federal relief and in industries that will be likely the last to return to pre-COVID levels. However, small businesses across the country are hurting, and small grants will never be enough. It will take all of our voices to pressure Congress for more comprehensive COVID relief that is not only more support, but expanded accessibility for small business owners unable to access the CARES Act funding due to badly designed programs that ultimately shut out Black and Brown small businesses at higher rates.
To support subsequent rounds of the Main Street Relief Fund, we are also accepting individual donations. Your clients or customers may be interested in also supporting, feel free to share this donation opportunity with them.
