The “Map Your Neighborhood Program” (MYN) assists in identifying and organizing neighborhood needs and skills and provides 9 effective steps to follow that are capable of protecting lives and property in your neighborhood before, during and after an emergency.

The MYN program is designed to help each of us to be more aware of proven basic protective actions that can help us work together better in the next emergency. A wonderful benefit of the MYN program is that it’s a great way to get to know or reconnect with your neighbors. You’ll be working together and learning how to protect your families, friends and property. Although the MYN program primarily focuses on residential neighborhoods, it can easily be adapted to issues faced in more rural areas here in West County. Residents in the immediate area of Sebastopol are encouraged to attend.

There has never been a better time to come together and learn what we can to take better care of ourselves, our neighbors and our community. Recent times have shown us that those of us impacted but outside of the hardest hit areas are very likely going to be on our own for extended periods of time. Simple planning and simple steps can improve our abilities to respond and recover.
