    Surviving Collapse

In the effort to imagine some long term direction to move in.

The Foundation series by Isaac Asimov presented a scenario where a galactic empire was collapsing as a result technology outpacing humanity's capacity to control it for the common good. In this projected collapse they configured a formula that would take shape through eras of time.

Being this isn't a galactic empire the time frame shouldn't have to be eras but what way to think now for collecting individuals towards surviving collapse and creating a seed that would grow, so we never have this kind of turmoil again?

And it only succeeded as far as it did by having a shadow government in control (the 2nd foundation). The whole system intended to mitigate the decline into chaos fell apart and the galaxy saved (maybe) by a super robot.

seems like a good plan to me!

Maybe the reason of opaque government is like:
"A key feature of Seldon's theory, which has proved influential in real-world social science,[3] is an uncertainty or incompleteness principle:"...

Particularly this, 'in-a-nutshell explanation for the 'reason' behind it:
..."if a population gains knowledge of its predicted behavior, its self-aware collective actions become unpredictable."
    ---------------------------------
"They"/"it" do/es not want us to ever become 'unpredictable' and therefore, 'we' to 'them' would no longer be 'uncontrollable' by them or maybe even 'ourselves'!

It is a very strange thing because trump was prophesied in The Foundation as The Mule. Although trump is nowhere as talented as The Mule, he causes the same vein of disruptions.

Hotsprings, the most perfect psychology for us to work with is J.L. Moreno's Psychodrama, he invented that word to name his Academy on Beacon Hill not so long ago. It is the beauty of what is so minimally represented as roll play in psychotherapy, it is also the play of the adult mind.

We are really only suffering from an inadequate mental health provision, because should that be in state, our citizens would know the source of their troubles.
It's why you don't hear of it much.

    Re: Surviving Collapse

Humans are not equipped by genetics or temperament for Capitalism. If some few of us should survive the Sixth Extinction and Collapse of the global capitalist system, we must renounce Capitalism. Which societies survived? Diamond never mentions overpopulation in his book "Collapse" yet it is a powerful force for societal failure. What societies succeeded? Hunter Gatherer societies succeeded as evidenced by the long tenancy of indigenous people in North America. Greed, overpopulation, and degradation of the environment are destroying our society and will soon lay waste to the earth. I do not believe that humans or most animals and plants down to the level of sponges will survive the Sixth Extinction. Perhaps the intelligent sponges will do better than we primates have.
