Car-avans to protect prisoners from COVID

    >>>>>>>>>From Sunday, 4/12, through Saturday, 4/18, there will be a daily line of cars driving around the county offices, with signs taped to cars' sides, hoods and roofs or otherwise attached so as not to limit the driver's view. Their gist is to be that prisoners must be protected from the great risk of COVID-19 due to crowding, through releases (with therapy follow-up) and increased sanitary measures within the jail and/or other facilities. Sunday, 4/12, and Saturday, 4/18, the action will be 1:00-2:30; Monday-Friday it will be 5:30-7:00. We'll meet in the parking lot north of Lucky Market across Mendocino at 150 Bicentennial--same shopping center as Home Depot; north is to the left at the top of the steep hill. In case of rain, participants are encouraged to letter signs in something more water-resistant than tempra; some signs may be available there.

Half the prisoners have been sent home, partly because of pressure from supporters of such actions.
