It's beginning to look like we are on the back side of the first wave. That in no way means the coast is clear. The virus is just as deadly as it was at the peak. Our actions will determine if we continue downward cases, level off or go back up.

Seems like we have a steady rate of cases of around 50 per day. If we use the CDC estimate of about 10 cases for every one detected that's about 500 per day in Sonoma County. Still a significant infection rate. That 10 to 1 may be way too high if The County is doing a good job of tracing. At any rate the virus is still active in Sonoma County.

Remember all those waves they showed us? Some peaking very high if we did nothing, some low but longer in duration? That doesn't seem to be the way this is playing out. It seems like we are stuck on a fairly high plateau. Some good news is death rates for those with serious illness are slowing declining as treatment protocols evolve. This is very much like a war. The best we can do is slow the enemy until reinforcements in the form of vaccines come online.
