the truth about Biden's record on many issues

would we again be choosing a president who habitually and unabashedly lies,
    and who lies about lying???

check this documented focus on Biden's history:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSu3khaJunE

Bernie pointed to Biden's history in the debate last Sunday
    Biden again denied it,
    Biden again lied apparently~

we have a responsibility to find out the truth about a person
    before we get swept up
    in imaginings
    that Bernie's ideas are unfounded
as they exist in other countries

    it is our population
that is reticent, resistant to righting what is wrong

    why is that?

i say it is a 'consciousness issue'

ignorance is about the willingness and habit to 'ignore'

it is a matter of waking up

many are waking up to Bernie's core issues
in the last four years since the 2016 election

even Biden sees tuition free college as a realistic offering

would the American public a few years ago
    been able to handle
a presidential candidate kissing his husband onstage, unashamed, sincere?
(as Mayor Pete & his partner did the night Pete suspended his campaign)

seems Bernie's clarity and intelligence and good judgement
    is making its mark
and will eventually become a reality in this country

    just a matter of Time

perhaps it is time for a Detour, a short cut~
when one examines and weighs the character and record of the one the Democrat Establishment is supporting
due to their fear, unreadiness, misunderstanding
    of what i see
    as healthy change
    over current dysfunction

    Peace, Peace, Peace

I agree that Biden is deeply flawed and, as a consequence, Trump may win re-election.

My question is: What are we supposed to do?

Well, I didn't watch the link (people here really need to stop posting YouTube etc links without solid background info- many here do not have good internet access and, especially for those that rely on satellite internet, overages are $$$. Plus- many refuse to use any service run by google).

But- I looked at who posted it. An intelligent and well spoken progressive. BUT, one who, like most partisan sources, has a history of exaggerating things about opponents while ignoring flaws of their favored candidates...

But it all seems to be a moot point. The American people have, seemingly, resoundingly spoken for Biden so far- and the trend looks likely to continue. Not my preferred candidate, sitting just above Sanders in my list of candidates that once seemed viable.

If people want to defeat Trump- it's time to get behind Biden - while still using your preferred candidate to help push the discussion left. But the sniping and divisiveness has got to stop.

Yamah, your response to my question, below, does not help this dire situation our nation is in. We need real solutions to the proven and highly destructive impact that Trump and his racist, misogynist fascists are to this country.

As I said in the other thread where you are posting this BS- I have never supported a single Trump position. Just because I think Bernie is the single least effective career politician of my lifetime doesn't mean I support Trump.

I didn't support Biden either. As said in the other thread- I support Sanders ideas and Warrens implementation of them. I guess you didn't understand my posts that I might vote for Trump if I thought the looming recession et al (before this crisis) would doom whichever party was in power.... ??

Would you *please* stop with the divisiveness...

Re: the truth about Biden's record on many issues

The goal for this election is singular and simple: defeat Trump. To do that we need the best candidate. She or he will not be able to shepherd through Congress any really meaningful legislation. She or he will only be able to replace Bader-Ginsburg with a liberal justice, stop the massive placement of conservative judges at lower appellate levels, and restart a host of environmental and other "necessary" programs through administrative action.
So all this palaver is totally unproductive and can only lead to divisions that will hurt us in the Presidential campaign. The die is cast. The people have said Biden is the best candidate.

I asked you the following question:

    Valley Oak wrote:
David, if you had to choose between Trump and Sanders, who would you vote for?

    And you replied:

    "Trump. No questions. No qualms.

Why? Because Bernie does *not* have the support in congress to get any of his proposals through. And the few things he can try and do via EO... Trump has thoroughly stacked the Federal courts.

While I agree with Bernie- in part or in whole on most everything (domestic) ... I do not see him being able to accomplish anything meaningful (as he has failed to do in his decades in congress).

Add to this that all signs point to a recession within the next year or so (never mind the current coronavirus impacts)...and...

Sanders will be a 1 term president, and guarantee the left does not hold power for over a decade. I'd prefer to let Trump bear responsibility... and keep the "R's" out of power for a good decade..."

Yes, needing the best candidate, Well on that we may never all agree. My point, and the reason i posted the video documenting Biden over the years, was to see lies told. Which has been the history of Trump. Many Republicans did not like Trump at all when he was running, tho they all got on board, to the degree that they overlook, deny, defend, cover up his lies. Accountability?? Does it boil down to supporting one's Party, no matter what? Will this ever truly work? (no). What is the point if things do not truly work, and are not truly fair, Just~ Guess it is mostly more of the same, a bit better or a bit worse. Until Consciousness raises and true headway, true equality, justice for all is the desire, rather than excess and poverty. The human dilemma is complex, a long journey. Maybe politics is not the arena to look for, expect a truly humane playing field and existence for all. My point in presenting the video link was to see who Joe Biden has been, rather than being deceived, so that at least we know the history of who is being chosen as the Party's candidate. And will people overlook, deny, cover-up for him the same as the Republican Senators have done for Trump?

Sorry I'm having to reply to you in multiple threads because you can't understand what I was saying...

My point was that all signs were that we were heading into a major recession. That, as Warren pointed out- Sanders has never accomplished a single thing he supported nor stopped one he opposed.

The hard reality is he would have zero chance getting his proposals through congress.

So, if the economy was going to crash- which completely incompetent president would I want? Trump of course- because whichever party was in power wouldn't see the presidency nor control of congress for a decade or more.

    Understand now?

Re: the truth about Biden's record on many issues

Regarding Bidens’ record --- there is NO question whatsoever this election!

ALL MUST vote straight D! And I come from the earliest years of the Green Party, in the early 1980s. DEMOCRATS up and down the ticket in 2020

There are many reasons Bernie did NOT turn out the young people, or African Americans, or suburban voters, or ANYONE in the South. American is a CENTRIST nation - and a ‘Democratic Socialist” would NEVER be elected. Many reasons, but not to belabor the point.

But Bernie has pulled the Democratic Party to be more progressive. We must stay involved!

Biden has a VERY REAL chance to win Arizona, and pull along Mark Kelly for US Senate; win Maine, and pull along a Democrat to defeat “Bye-Bye Susan” Collins, and the help elect another Dem as Senator in MONTANA! And to help win the Senate races in North Carolina, at least one in GA (2 this year) and even Kansas!! Iowa! EVEN Kentucky and MAYBE South Carolina!

Bernie would have been a drag on the entire ticket this year! And I’ve been a Bernie supporter shine the 1980s!

THERE IS NO QUESTION AS WHAT TO DO THIS YEAR!

Listen to Bernie, and Vote DEMOCRATIC straight ticket!
