    next DNC move

    from a friend's fb page:

Did you know about the DNC's Nuclear Option?
"Filling a Vacancy on the National Ticket: In the event of death, resignation or disability of a nominee of the Party for President or Vice President after the adjournment of the National Convention, the National Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee shall confer with the Democratic leadership of the United States Congress and the Democratic Governors Association and shall report to the Democratic National Committee, which is authorized to fill the vacancy or vacancies."
This is the last rule they have to use to try to control the process. And it looks like Biden has dementia

    interesting, eh? taking bets. jude

Good work, M/M, finding chapter and verse in DNC 2020 - though it is page 19 section G.

So, if forewarned is forearmed, now what? sound this alarm at large, if that'd be valuable? and/or?

Thanks Jude - I was going by .pdf page number, and not the page on the document itself...

As far as now what? Wish I knew.... other than keep on doing what we're each called to do to make world a better place for all.

Norman Solomon in his latest article quotes poet Ted Roethke: 'In a Dark Time, the Eye Begins to See'.
One can hope - for scales to fall off eyes, ears to open, etc. Something so big is playing out before our eyes, affecting not only election, but global health, economies, etc... I do love Bernie's calling all of us to our best selves, which to my mind is best type of leader (rather than authoritarian, messianic, etc: 'Now Is the Time for Solidarity': Bernie Sanders Addresses Health and Economic Crisis Facing US as Coronavirus Spreads

Apologies for, perhaps, a disappointing response....

    *YAWN*

What, exactly, is supposed to be your point here? OF course both the DNC and RNC have plans in place for the (unlikely) death of the nominee.

...clutching at straws for a conspiracy?

Cenk Uygur of the Young Turks Network says it's possible that the Democratic Party establishment will replace Biden at the convention because they know (obvious) that Biden is mentally unfit, either for office or for beating Trump. They might pick Kamala Harris as the new Dem nominee and maybe Bootegieg or someone else as VP.

I find it ironic that the same corners that have been saying for months that the DNC and "establishment" were conspiring to help Biden against Sanders are now saying they are going to toss out Biden in favor of Pete or Klobuchar...

Pick a story and stick to it folks... you all sound like a squirrelly tweaker changing their story every time something is proved wrong....

Yes, Amy, Pete, and Kamala may have a place .... I wouldn't be very surprised if one of the Obamas or even HRC is selected, should election come to such a sorry place.

Too late for this election: Collectively work together to secure voting w/ knowledgeable leadership of Bev Harris et al... http://blackboxvoting.org/author/bev-harris/

Also, still think recommendation of Michael Hudson is great suggestion:

If Biden wins the nomination, I hope the DNC replaces him with a better candidate. I don't think that picking Kamala Harris as his running mate is going to be the silver bullet that resolves Biden's weaknesses. Trumpsters, some of which are right here in Wacco, will unfurl their political payload against Biden because he is such an easy target to attack. We'll see what happens. Right now, though, polls seem to put Biden ahead of Trump, the fascist criminal in chief that like-minded folks vote for.

I find this thread deeply disturbing- with people who have whined and spread conspiracy theories about the DNC for several years now suggesting the DNC should replace Biden with a candidate of their choosing- overriding the will of the large majority of Americans who have voted so far. I guess I shouldn't be *that* surprised that hypocrisy runs so deep...

Bernie is finished. His Charge of the Light Brigade was spirited, but in the end the country didn't want a Revolution.
The Bernie Bro's talked a good game, but the country didn't buy it. Bernie hawked his agenda for decades and it just wasn't happening. We always knew it was Biden all along.

Umm.. sorry, but no. I have never supported Trump on a single issue. In fact- I support Bernies ideas and Warrens implementation of them. But I am also a pragmatist who group up on the Mason-Dixon Line and travel this country a lot- and have had hard reality checks of what this country will support to move forward without excessive backlash.

Yes.. I have said... possibly tongue in cheek (even I'm not sure) that I may vote for trump this time around. Because I feel like Im seeing what *both* parties saw in 2008 (and hence promoted and then saddled McCain w Palin and Obama & Biden... I still believe both parties thought the situation was so dire whichever party was in office wouldn't see power for over a decade...

But you know what... when Obama was elected, for a brief period- congress actually put aside partisanship and worked in the interest of the country (for a few months). Then %(#^ imploded when it actually worked and the (black) Dem president got credit.

I'm undecided if this can happen again. Or if the divide is now so deep that whoever is president is doomed to failure by congress. And...if this is going to be the case... I want Trump to take the blame.

David, do you remember your reply below???

    https://www.waccobb.net/forums/showt...316#post232316

I asked you the following question:

    Valley Oak wrote:
David, if you had to choose between Trump and Sanders, who would you vote for?

    And you replied:

    "Trump. No questions. No qualms.

Why? Because Bernie does *not* have the support in congress to get any of his proposals through. And the few things he can try and do via EO... Trump has thoroughly stacked the Federal courts.

While I agree with Bernie- in part or in whole on most everything (domestic) ... I do not see him being able to accomplish anything meaningful (as he has failed to do in his decades in congress).

Add to this that all signs point to a recession within the next year or so (never mind the current coronavirus impacts)...and...

Sanders will be a 1 term president, and guarantee the left does not hold power for over a decade. I'd prefer to let Trump bear responsibility... and keep the "R's" out of power for a good decade..."

The Real Reason why the DNC is so anxious to run Joe Biden as the Democrat candidate in 2020 is because he is unelectable. Donald J. Trump has more charisma in his right hand than blundering Joe Biden has in his whole body. It should be obvious to all that the fix is in. The plutocrats have already decided that Donald Trump shall have a second term. They like the tax breaks he gave them; delivered on a silver platter.

In our Modern Age, with Black box voting & the Diebold voting machine, a pre-programmed outcome is always the Orwellian option of the power elite. The United States has been a duopoly ever since 1877. Study up on the historical significance of that date in American History. There was a sea-change.

There was very nearly a Second American Revolution in 1877. There was a General Strike, from Coast to Coast. The Feds called out the National Guard and the Strike (Read : Revolt!) was suppressed, with bayonets and bullets and much blood shed. Instead, the "Conservative Revolution" (as in Germany in 1933) prevailed.

    M/M quoted from article in truthout.org :
Quote llinois appears to have been the worst of the three yesterday, with polling places that lacked ballots and voting machines. Really? If we had ham, we could have ham and eggs, if we had eggs. That level of abject failure was matched only by Illinois TV station WCIA 3 .... aired a graphic showing Biden defeating Sanders the day before the vote. In the age of the internet conspiracy theory, this was the equivalent of pouring kerosene on the sun.
    ....

Yes- I remember. Could you not understand the point I was trying to make? That Sanders had zero chance of getting his proposals through congress (much less, as reality has borne out- getting elected).

And that if we were heading into a 2007/2008 style recession- which all signs pointed to- would I rather have a completely ineffective Democrat or Republican in office to take the blame and destroy the parties chance of power for a decade?
