A whole evening of real deal country and Western Swing music!

    THE WESTERN SWING CARAVAN
Western swing music has deep roots in California. Whether it’s Bob Wills famous band filling dance halls and making Hollywood movies in the 40’s and 50’s, Asleep at the Wheel’s Marin county tenure in the 70’s, the great Lost Weekend band from the east bay that continues to this day or Sonoma country’s own Western Swing Caravan this is music that that recalls the enormously popular swing dance music of the Texas Playboys!

What is Western Swing? Simply, it’s infectious dance music that melds the fiddle music tradition of Texas honky tonks with the classic country sounds that came out of Bakersfield and the rough and tumble side of Nashville’s glory years that merged big band swing with fiddle tunes and cowboy swagger!
The Western Swing Jamboree is a collection of many of the bay area’s finest musician’s.

    Candy Girard – fiddle/vocals
    Bobby Black- steel guitar
    Cori Wood - vocals
    Paul Shelaskey - fiddle
    Rick Cutler – drums
    Tim Sarter – bass
    Kevin Russell – guitar/vocals

    CRYING TIME
Honkytonk revisionists out of Oakland, Crying Time plays straight-up country and western music, from Bob Wills to Glen Campbell with whistle stops in between. Their original songs sit pretty in the mix – you’ll think you heard these tunes on your daddy’s stereo when you were little. Jill Rogers is a singer’s singer with a 1974 voice and a story to tell, and Myles Boisen is a hero of juke joint licks on the six string and lap steel guitar. Bay Area music scene veteran Tony Marcus's fiddle weaves through the songs while Tim Rowe on drums and Smilin’ Pete Garellick on bass hold down the rhythm with grace, style, and swing. Steel guitar legend Bobby Black frequently sits in with the band, too.
