In our weekly Sunday Intellectual club Russian house #1 welcomes Elliott Isenberg, PhD with his talk about Psycho-Spiritual Development

As our global eco-system is being challenged by the stresses from over-population, increased nationalism, and the orientation of consumerism, there has to be a new formulation for how human beings can make spiritual progress.

We will discuss three stages in human evolution:
1) The Pleistocene = humans as hunters & gatherers
2) The Anthropocene = humans become the dominant species on the planet
3) The Capitalocene = humans have collectively chosen to see value in commodities

Comparing the existing American imperialism to that of ancient Greece, this is a time to re-introduce the ELEUSINIAN MYSTERIES. These “mysteries” existed in a village 13 miles from Athens for 1600 years & were central to the spirituality of both Greece & Rome — and what they taught is highly relevant to this time of human awakening. In these “mysteries”, we will explore the secret of going beyond the perspective of seeing value only in the accumulation of commodities.
