The Old World Carolers sings for benefits of our choice for an authentic holiday spirit--we may include homeless shelters, environment protection, medical emergency help for the needy, or other causes. Candidates for this year's repertoire include Allon, gay bergeres (old French), Candlemas Eve, Come, Mad Boys, Be Glad, Boys, Fum, fum, fum, Green Grow’th the Holly, Panis angelicus, Hacia Belén, Past Three a Clock, Sankta Lucia (in Swedish), and more. We always add a few standards for singalongs. All our songs are traditional European carols of the 12th–19th centuries. It's all about the music!
This year we celebrate our 34th season. We have lots of fun and generally dress Victorian for our main concert (some costume pieces available to borrow).
The OWC meets in downtown Sebastopol Thursday evenings starting in late August up until Thanksgiving, then we have one benefit concert in early December and quartets may (or may not, as singers decide) form to sing at parties or paying gigs of our choice. Auditions happening now for soprano, alto, tenor, and bass/baritone.
