The Occidental Community Choir is looking for it’s next Music Director. OCC has earned a reputation for excellence - producing unique concert experiences that combine humor, storytelling, poetry, varied instrumental accompaniment, and an off-the-beaten-path repertoire. We mentor and support one another in developing our skills as singers, lyricists and composers, and much of our music is ‘in house’.

We are looking for a director who can write and arrange choral music, as well.

The OCC is a non-profit community choir that does most things by consensus/committee. The Music Director works with the Program Director and Program Committee to select our repertoire, communicate with composers about arrangements, direct our performances, and lead the choir in our regularly scheduled rehearsals (Wed evenings & a few Mondays), a full day Fall retreat and a Weekend Spring retreat.

The Occidental Center for the Arts (OCA) is our home rehearsal space. We perform there as well as other local venues. We perform our spring concerts in the 1st half of May and Winter concerts in the 1st half of December.

If you are interested in leading the choir into it’s 5th decade, or know someone who is, please contact Bob Burnett for a complete job description: [email protected], or call 707-291-0640.
