I've found two businesses in Sebastopol that offer shredding, both charging $1 a pound. Perhaps this is as cheap as it gets, but does anyone know of a less expensive source in Santa Rosa or elsewhere?

Redwood Credit Union puts on several shred-a-thon events, free to the general public, each year at various locations. Next one is in Novato this Saturday. You can bring up to three banker's boxes of stuff to shred.

There is a place on Santa Rosa Ave that will charge 24$ for 3 bankers boxes. They have specific hours you can bring stuff, If you want to watch it get shredded, it may cost more and has different hours. Search Doc Shred SRAvenue.
