    Sonoma County at a Crossroads

    Water – Wineries – Cannabis – Climate – Greenbelts - Coast
Tuesday, April 16 (A.M. Time TBD)
Public Hearing – General Plan – Permit Sonoma Comprehensive Work Plan
Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, 575 Administration Drive, Santa Rosa, 95401
We need a new plan for the future of Sonoma County!
Tell the Supervisors to update the General Plan now!

    Dear Allies and Friends;
Sonoma County is at a crossroads right now with new and ongoing challenges that have the potential to change the face of our communities and lands for decades to come.

With wildfires, climate change and the housing crunch, our General Plan – the blueprint for how and where we grow – is now woefully out-of-date. It can’t address the “new normal.”

However, Permit Sonoma is asking the supervisors to delay the General Plan again. They will decide on April 16 at a public hearing during the morning session, time to be determined.

    Take Action!
We need the board of supervisors to take immediate action to address critical environmental decisions about our land, water, climate and communities. They need to reach out to all of us and craft a responsive new General Plan without further delay and provide a timeline to complete it.

Please send an email or attend the meeting to let them know we need to plan for the future now, not later. [email protected], James Gore [email protected], [email protected],[email protected], [email protected]g

SAMPLE EMAIL AND TALKING POINTS - Add your priorities
    Dear Supervisors,
Sonoma County is at a crossroads right now with new and ongoing challenges that have the potential to change the face of our communities and lands for decades to come. As a resident and voter in Sonoma County who cares deeply about families, communities and our lands, I urge you to:
    - Update the General Plan without further delay.
    - Focus all new housing inside towns and cities.
    - Protect rural towns with voter-approved boundaries to hold back rural sprawl.
    - Keep our coast natural and family-friendly through the Local Coastal Plan.
    - Finalize winery event center regulations based on guidelines drafted by staff.
    - Require climate measures to reduce greenhouse gases and Vehicle Miles Traveled.
    - Hold off on major General Plan amendments or rezoning until the General Plan is completed.

    - Uphold California Environmental Quality Act and ensure adequate environmental review of all new initiatives and projects.
    - Ban glyphosate (Round Up) and synthetic pesticides.
    - Protect oak woodlands and forests from conversion to vineyards.
    - Halt luxury resort in community separator on edge of Santa Rosa UGB.

    Sincerely yours, Name, Address, Phone
