Color is real, but only in our minds. Physics measures the stimulus but cannot reach the perception. Color helps us understand reality.

    Do you know:
    – there are more than three primary colors
    – brown and orange are the same hue
    – a third of the visible colors aren’t in the rainbow
    – why moonlight comes from sunlight but has a different color?

This presentation seeks to clarify how color works in lighting with some simple concepts that can be applied anywhere. We will use custom software and color-changing LED fixtures to demonstrate primary colors in lighting, how they mix together, and the effect they have on lighting scenes and surfaces.

Richard C. Zulch is an American electrical engineer, software developer, and stage lighting designer. He has over a dozen
    patents
with the most recent addressing improved aesthetics for video displays and LED lighting under the commercial brand Terachrome®. He is the president of Zulch Laboratories, Inc. in Occidental.
