On Feb. 8 an array of local performers will make their way to the stage at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center to compete in the 2019 Sebastopol Talent Show.

Twelve acts were chosen after community center board members and staff viewed 20 video submissions. Cordelia Holst, executive director of the community center, said the submissions were creatively diverse.

“It was a wide range,” she said. “There was a unicycling-violinist, metal guitar player, a singing tap dance duo and a magician.”

The semifinalists represent several different communities in the county including Healdsburg, Santa Rosa, Windsor, Forestville and Sebastopol.

This year the talent show will have a new way to gauge each performance.

“We will rely on audience participation,” Holst said. “There will be an applause-o-meter where you can see the needle moving as the audience is cheering.”
