Connect with the community by providing event support at the Laguna Foundation’s classes and outings, as well as represent the Foundation at local events such as festivals and farmers markets.

At each event, Laguna Greeters may be assigned to one or more of these tasks: setup and cleanup of tables and chairs; directing parking; greeting and checking-in guests; taking Gift Shop merchandise sales; setup and cleanup of snacks; representing the Laguna Foundation (tabling) at community events. Greeters help support the events, as well as have the opportunity to attend those events for free!

Experts in biology, natural history, and environmental education train Laguna Greeters in lively classes and field trips. Greeter Training is approximately 10 hours and consists of three classes at the Laguna Environmental Center (March 12, March 23 and March 26, 2019). Trainees are also invited to attend four optional classes and field trips. Trainees receive a binder with reading and reference material that is closely tied with the theme of each classroom session. The training course fee is $30. Partial scholarships are available.

Upon completion of the training course, a minimum commitment of 5 volunteer hours each month is requested. Laguna Greeters volunteer year-round, primarily on evenings and weekends. Greeters are part of the Laguna Education Programs Volunteer Team which includes fun opportunities for continuing education, special outings and social events with fellow education programs volunteers.

The Laguna Foundation has a full schedule of activities each month, all of which require lots of help! We hope you will join us in supporting these engaging events. Classes Start March 12, 2019 – Apply Today!
