    The Restorative Justice Community Educator embodies the values and principles of restorative justice and serves as a guide to those in the community who would like to participate in the work of cultivating authentic relationships and repairing those relationships in the wake of harmful action and ongoing systemic oppression. They are experienced in the full range of restorative practices, including circle keeping, restorative dialogue, and restorative conferencing, and they can apply these skills effectively in a variety of community contexts.

    This is an exempt, full-time position with flexible hours and a starting pay range of $33,500 - $40,000, depending on experience. Benefits include health coverage, dental reimbursement, and two weeks paid vacation.


    • Lead regular community circles with school-age children ranging from elementary to high school, as well as adults in school and other community settings
    • Design and conduct trainings in restorative justice for schools and other community partners
    • Provide follow-up mentoring and implementation support to training participants
    • Maintain collaborative relationships with diverse community partners through outreach, ongoing communication, community education, etc.
    • Establish program structure and creatively develop programs in accordance with changing community needs
    • Assist with program management, including tracking data, writing reports, evaluation, and billing


    • Three years of experience or more in restorative justice work
    • Grounded, in-depth understanding of restorative justice approaches and history
    • Background working in partnership with schools and justice system preferred
    • Bilingual (Spanish and English)/bicultural preferred
    • Demonstrated mature character, high standard of ethics, and strong capacity for personal insight and self-reflection
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Familiarity with shared leadership and inclusive decision-making
    • Ability to work and make decisions independently with minimal supervision
    • Working knowledge of computers: MS Office, Google tools, and database management
    • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and access to reliable vehicle
    • Fingerprinting and background check with clearance to work with youth in schools, inside juvenile facility, and in the community
