    Grace Is Gone

    Wednesday, January 9, 2019
    6:30-9:00pm

Grace Is Gone is a tear-jerker starring John Cusack raising his daughters, age 8 and 12, while his wife is serving as a Marine in Iraq. After receiving the news that his wife was killed in action, he can’t bring himself to tell the girls.

Instead, he takes them on a spur-of-the-moment road trip to his daughter’s favorite amusement park, in Florida while he comes to terms with his loss and figures out how to share the news with the girls. When he finally tells the girls, he is caring and tender.

According to a Rotten Tomatoes review,
“This film represents the brainchild of producer/star Cusack and writer/director James C. Strouse. It began with Cusack's fury about the Bush administration's policy banning footage of caskets returning from the Iraq and Afghani wars, and his desire to see those events played out onscreen, in the lives of American citizens.“

Join us to watch the film, followed by a lively and educational discussion.

Home-made savory foods and desserts for sale at the event. Come early to enjoy them!

    Doors open at 6:00 PM
