PD subscriber? Check your account carefully

Thanks to a WACCOBB writer I was alerted to the practice of a local newspaper (wonder why they were reluctant to name names!) of charging extra for a glossy magazine that probably nobody wants. I called the PD and was told that they now have a list of opt outs. If you're not on the list you're being charged! Also I do a lot of vacation holds, which they say on the recording can be credited back to your account and your subscription extended...well guess what? Sometimes that happens and sometimes it doesn't! The woman was very helpful about crediting me back, but there are some messed up things going on with their systems. Still I do like to read local news and see my friends in the paper, so I'm keeping my subscription...for now.
