Supplies for Displaced Families From Fire

Hello: I am Vicki, from Alabama...My Dear Friend, Amy Young is also a refugee from Alabama and she is so very connected and influential. From her home in Oregon, she has coordinated with some very generous folks who have items to distribute to families that lost their homes in the fire. They have brought lots of items and there are more coming. I need your ideas as a community how best to get the word out and get these items to the families. Can you weigh in? Who to coordinate with to help get the word out and where would be the best place to distribute?

The supplies are up in Cloverdale, but she offered to bring a truck somewhere and have the families meet us.

    New blankets, sheets, pillows,
    Children's Cots
    Toys, games for children
Every kind of toiletry item you can imagine: shampoo, soap, nail clippers
    Infant Tylenol
    Diabetes supplies: strips, needles, etc.
    Camping supplies: sleeping bags
Pet supplies: Dog and cat food, bowls, toys, collars, leashes, crates
10,000 dollars worth of baby and adult diapers
    Gift cards
Clothes for babies, men and women

As far as pet supplies go, the Sonoma Humane Society (on Rt 12 between Santa Rosa & Sebastopol, near Llano Road) is taking them and concurrently handing them out to those who need them. See:

I know that Paradise Pet Resort in Rohnert Park has taken in animals at no charge, and now have 450. I just dropped off some blankets, beds, and litter pans. They need all those pet items on your list.

Thank you Vicki and Amy, I'm sure someone will reply with a way to coordinate this generous offer. Facebook has been a great resource for many. Also, Nextdoor in various neighborhoods.

    Hi Vicki,

So much generosity! It's a beautiful thing. I was at a big donation depot in Santa Rosa helping sort things today. They are bogged down separating it all.

Here's a good page of organizations that are still taking donations: https://sonomafireinfo.org/#/donate

    Hope that helps!
