Re: feel TRUMP should not be in office, inviting you to please participate in IMPEACHMENT

I neither see how, nor why immpeachment at this point in prudent.

While in the House it only takes a simple majority (of those present and voting) to make the case for impeachment, it takes a 2/3rds vote in the Senate for a conviction. I am unaware of any US president to ever be convicted by the Senate, nor removed from office (though one could argue impeachment proceedings helped force Nixon to resign).

IMHO talk of impeachment at this point risks massive blowback. It will be seen by many on the right, including those currently displeased with Trump, as politically motivated, causing deeper entrenchment. Not unlike what we saw among the left during Bill Clintons impeachment (which passed the house, but failed to garner a conviction in the senate).

With republican majorities in both houses, it is highly questionable it would pass the simple majority vote in the House...and likely damage those on both sides of the aisle who might support it. Pretty much no chance it would lead to a conviction in the Senate.

As I've said before on this matter- give the man rope to hang himself- he's already well into the process of building his own gallows. I have never seen a president in my lifetime sink to such low approval numbers so quickly, so embolden (and enrich with donations) the opposition, nor take so many actions destined for court fights.

The focus needs to be on 2018- with the entire house of representatives up for election and enough of the senate to swing it, albeit minorly, to the "D" camp.

If Trump and friends continue as they have been- there is a very real chance the worst of his actions will be tied up in courts until he looses control of both the house and the senate. A very real chance he will be the last, ahem, "republican" elected president for a generation (that is, if the "D's" can get their head out of their collective ***** and put up a real candidate )

I agree with the previous poster. Nothing to be done at this point. The only hope is to put the house in democratic hands in 2018. Pretty much all other efforts won't do much. Find which republican seats can be turned and use your time and money on that. With a democratic majority in the house they will have subpoena power which would change everything.

You have to Fire him first.

He enjoyed himself too many times telling people they were fired.
    Its his turn.

    Trump, Your Fired

Then, if it doesn't make a difference,

    Then you impeach.

I just wonder at the humor and possible humanity of a public uprising to give Trump the unique experience of being Fired,

It's kind of an informal thing but just available, if any other thing, like what just took place should happen, I suppose it's a common thing. Three strikes your Out.

    He just had one.

Don't forget that impeaching him gets us someone who may be more effective at pushing through the Republican's agenda, as well as probably being more electable in 2020. The establishment would be able to blame all the bad results on Trump's lack of discipline, rather than on his views of what would be good policy. I prefer that the policies themselves become tainted in the eyes of as big a chunk of the population as possible.

At least half a million people, who have signed the petition at impeachdonaldtrumpnow.org, disagree with those unwilling to take this next step. The following is just in from their campaign. This would not be a final step, but one of many next steps. This is one of many steps to build a peaceful mass movement. Join us. Save our democracy from its greatest current threat.

    "This is amazing!

Eleven days after the inauguration of President Trump, you and more than 500,000 other people have joined our campaign calling on Congress to impeach the President for violating the U.S. Constitution. Half a million of us, united with one voice, are working together to defend democracy—and the numbers are growing every second. You are helping to make it happen!

We won’t back down now. Help us grow this movement and put the pressure on Congress! Click here to contribute.

Help us keep the momentum going by making a gift today. Every dollar raised will support our ongoing organizing, communications, and legal work across the country to build and win this campaign.

It will take all of us, but we can save our democracy.

 Let’s do this!

The Campaign to Impeach Donald Trump Now."

My biggest concern is that Trump would be foolish enough to initiate a nuclear exchange, which means that it would all be over.

Being the boy he is, some have suggested that he will eventually tire of this particular game, resign, and start playing another game. His ego would be fed to feel that he is "the most powerful person in the world."

Re: feel TRUMP should not be in office, inviting you to please participate in IMPEACHMENT

My biggest concern is people aren't going to focus on the below. It's not enough to do things that make us feel good, like marching and far fetched (at this time) impeachment hopes, we must take back The House. Many of us just might have to move to Turlock or Modoc for a month if we really want to unwind Trumpworld. Take back The House and impeachment could actually be on the table. Without that we got not much.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has released a list of top targets looking ahead to the 2018 elections, and California's Republican delegation is a big part of it.
Of the 61 Republicans Democrats are looking to unseat nationwide, seven are Californians:

All of these lawmakers represent districts carried by Hillary Clinton in the general election, with Valadao's district voting for Clinton over Trump by double-digit margins. Many of them seemed to win despite Trump in 2016 , out-polling him by at least several percentage points.

Issa and Denham won by the closest margins of the group, with Issa eking out a 51-49 win over Doug Applegate, who has already said he'll run again in 2018 . Denham overcame two-time challenger Michael Eggman by less than five percentage points.
Denham, Issa and Valadao were also among the top spenders in California on a per-vote basis in the November election, spending well above $30 per each vote they received.
In a memo, the Democratic committee noted Trump's low approval ratings and the fact that few presidents in history have seen their party gain seats in Congress during the first midterm elections.
