If your cat wakes you up too early- here's a brilliant solution!

Many people have this problem, since this is normal behavior for cats. My cat doesn’t do it every morning, and the times vary from 3AM to 5AM, depending on her activity the day before. I find that it helps to wake her up from sleeping long hours during the day. Hey, turnabout's fair play! Then I do some cuddling or interactive play.
I recently read about one person’s solution: 1) keep the cat out of the bedroom, and 2) put one of these by your door- PetSafe Ssscat Cat Spray Control System. They’re about $20 on Amazon. It’s a motion detector that shoots a puff of air that will deter cat from meowing or scratching by your door. If you don't feel o.k. about keeping your cat out, you could put the can on your night stand. After awhile, just having the can there will modify the behavior. I think it’s pretty damn brilliant!

This could also be used to deter cats from scratching furniture, but you'd need more than one can.
