My long-time friend Chellis Glendinning used to live in Camp Meeker, then elsewhere in the Bay Area, then New Mexico. She has written various books, including "When Technology Wounds" and "My Name is Chellis, and I'm Recovering from Western Civilization."
She moved to Bolivia a number of years ago, and is currently finishing a book on history makers from the U.S., Bolivia, Chile, and Mexico. Following is a quotation at the end of her last email. It summarizes part of her thinking, as well as mine. If you want to receive her occasional mailings from down South, let me know and I will provide you her email address to dispatch them to you. It is good to stay in touch with the rest of the world and get out of our Sonoma County and United States bubbles.
"American democracy is a broken reality, and conscientious citizens must look elsewhere as a prison break of the political imagination is long overdue." --Richard Falk, "Slouching Toward Global Disaster"
