FLEDGLING NON PROFIT needs mentorship and support in completing legal set up

    Dear Sonoma County Community

We have been rebuilding an old church in Willits for many years into a Meditation Center. We have finally opened in October 2015 and have been very busy pursuing our purpose of teaching meditation and offering programs and classes that relieve suffering and help people cultivate practical spiritual skills for daily life.

Our center, the Inner Resource Institute, is steadily growing, with more and more great people coming to our classes, programs, and events. We are fulfilling the vision of serving the Mendocino and Lake County communities with non sectarian trainings, fellowship, and one on one mentorship.

We filed for nonprofit religious corporation status with the State of California last year. We need help from someone who can work with us as a friendly mentor in completing setting up our nonprofit organization.

We would be happy to work with a lawyer or anyone else who can help us to navigate this process. The key thing is finding the right person

We have much enthusiasm and are totally dedicated to our center but simply do not have the knowledge, experience, or expertise to complete setting up our nonprofit.

We need immediate help! Thus we are appealing to the Sonoma County community via this posting. If you know of anyone who can advise or work with us, please write or call us.

We have built the center and pay its bills through working long hours in our landscaping and property care business. We donate every dollar above operating expenses to the Inner Resource Institute. This is a working meditation center that truely deserves some help!

We are more than happy to compensate anyone who can help us bring the legal set up of our non profit about!

The person we are looking for to help us has a desire in their heart to give to the greater good. We'd love to make a long term connection with our mentor- Perhaps through serving on our Board of Directors.

Also, we invite anyone who wants and needs to develop peace of mind, eliminate selfishness, and be part of an emerging group of great people focused on inner evolution and selfless service to come to our classes and events.

We have an ongoing Meditation Training Intensive -- Which is an excellent introduction to everything you need to have your own satisfying and effective meditation practice- Every Saturday from 2-4 pm. We have Satsang on Thursday evenings and offer a Shambhala Hub on Sundays

You are invited and welcome to come as you are! All classes and practices are free! We do ask that you call us to preregister.

    please Call or text 707 357 4676

    Thankyou!

Can people make money working for you or is it all volunteer and when people leave you do they go with more than what they came with?

    copy of private message:

You might contact MOTHER non-profit for Community Projects, and them them be your fiscal sponsor. It can happen quite quickly. The application is $100. There's also another fiscal sponsor in Sonoma County, but it costs more to apply. Once you have a fiscal sponsor, you can get tax deductible donations. The website is www.MOTHERnonprofit.org

We established Mother as a non-profit fiscal sponsor about a year ago, with no help from attorneys. We did get help from the Volunteer Center. There's a fee for membership, but they may reduce it for you, as they did for us.

God speed in your venture. It is a worthy one. I have worked with people serving the mental health community and it is possible to access $ from MHSA (mental health services act) which provides some funding for innovative, culturally competent mental health services for clients in each county. These funds are contributed by the hated "1%" in addition to the state taxes they pay. Contact your Director of Mental Health and see how you can adapt your program to serve that community. Although you are asking for help with 501c3 perhaps you can broaden your vision to include a diverse community. (I also recommend adding yoga).
