This year's focus is on the importance of talking, reading and singing with children from day one and its impact on early brain development. Activities are geared toward engaging children and their families in fun Talk. Read. Sing.® behaviors that inspire the continuation of these healthy activities at home. Giveaway items will also be provided for free to all visitors of The Express providing the resources needed to help sustain that healthy behavior change.
The nine-member First 5 Sonoma County Commission was established through the California Children and Families First Act of 1998 and directed to promote, support, and improve the early development of children from the prenatal stage through five years of age. The Act established a tobacco tax which funds the work of this Commission.
