Dear bird-lovers, Our little pride or ostentation of peafowl were very lucky in their hatching this Spring, and we are looking to adopt several pairs of young out to the right people. (Also, we have several mature ladies who are looking for mates). Ideally, you should be rather rural with good tall fences or a nice big aviary. Over the years we have moved this pride from being abandoned exotics to tamed pets. Not easy - a long term dedication. They are calm and trusting and love to gather at noon for their snack of greens. They like a wide variety of food, from game bird mix to bugs to peanuts and other nuts, seeds and mealworms. They are quite tame. Not that they will sit on your lap, but they will follow you if you have a dish in your hand! it would be good to have a fairly large place to shut them in at night or in very rainy weather. We are hard at work on our own shelter for this winter's hoped for rain. So if you are interested, please respond to [email protected]. or call 823-0974. This is an answering machine, but I will get back to you.

We can offer information and support about hot to raise these much respected Sacred Birds of India.
