    introducing chickens

What is the best way to introduce chickens or pullets to my flock?? I have six I tried adding 3 after putting them in a dog crate with my flock and after 4 days I put them in the coop and they died.

    Re: introducing chickens

I recently added 3 chickens to my 2 long-time girls. We moved the 3 @ night in cat carriers. I left the 2 carriers in the coop for a note + part of a day, food & water inside. I let them out on day 2. There was some pecking of a new small Rhode Island Red, & she had been picked on before I got her, but w/in 48 he's that had stopped(with some human interference). The 3 now mostly stay by themselves but the other 2 are now more friendly..
Moving them @ note was the trick. Good luck.
