I want to draw your attention to a column in the Press Democrat where a reporter says interesting and good things about Sebastopol. The city-based PD too often bashes our small town. On page 4 there is a section at the bottom called "Town Quirks." This one, written by Andrea Granahan, is about our town, which she describes as "endearing."
It has two photos, one of Occupy Sebastopol with signs in front of citibank, revealing "the peaceful nature of its Occupy Sebastopol movement." Under the sub-head "Peaceful Protest," Granahan reminds us that at "the height of the Occupy movement...the Sebastopol Police brought hot coffee and doughnuts to those in the downtown plaza," where Occupy still has a presence.
Another photo is of Sebastopol's long "Dancing Tradition," including Morris dancers. What I really liked was her closing reminder that we "are Sebastopuddlians." Yes!
