Support your local FOOD NOT BOMBS in it's 6th year

Sonoma County Food Not Bombs asks for your support

Santa Rosa Food Not Bombs serves food Sundays at 5pm in Courthouse Square. [Map]. Petaluma Food Not Bombs is also serving food now on Mondays at 10:30 am at the corner of Washington and Howard Streets in Petaluma. see website www.scfoodnotbombs.org

Food Not Bombs is entirely supported and operated by grass roots volunteers. These are freely offered, (mostly) vegan, nutritious, community meals open to all, as an opportunity to build community, reclaim public space, protest hunger, poverty, militarization, and all forms of oppression. Food Not Bombs, in it's current form, has been providing this opportunity to ALL the people of Sonoma County for SIX years.

Food Not Bombs needs your help! Consistent, hands on participation is always needed and we cannot continue without recruiting some new help. We believe that what we do is an important service to the community, a pointed and relevant political statement as well as a great opportunity for people to get involved with activism and volunteerism. We generally feed between 20 and 60 people every Sundayand now every Monday too. This is often the only free, weekly meal that people can get that doesn't come with a pound of proselytizing (or animal parts). We would love to have enough support to offer this type of opportunity more than once a week.

We need help with food donations and food pickup, as well as transportation, cooking, and serving. We also appreciate cash donations for occasional food, cleaning suuplies and dry goods purchases. Cash can be dropped off in our donation cans at Community Market in Santa Rosa or at any of our servings. Any donation helps. Our expenditures are usually less than $20 a month.

If you are interested in volunteering with FNB, just respond to this posting, email us at [email protected] or come down to a serving and introduce yourself. You can also call Robert at 707-292-seven six four two.

Sonoma County Food Not Bombs has meetings on the First and Third Tuesdays of the month at 7pm at the Free Mind Media Infoshop, located at 546 Pacific Ave. in Santa Rosa. [map] If you're interested in joining our listserve to get updates on Food Not Bombs events and cooking reminders send an email to: [email protected].

No previous cooking experience or activism is required to make a difference here. We look forward to cooking with you!
