Dec. 18, 2013: county Health Services Administration has published a "request for qualification" regarding "aquatic assessment of community water fluoridation"
https://www.sonoma-county.org/purcha...ps.htm#aquatic
"A working group of the Fluoride Advisory Committee seeks a technical analysis to review the possible effects, if any, of community water fluoridation on the Endangered Species Act specified fish population. "

Damage to Plants and Flowers by Fluoridated Tap Water
Five studies from four countries illustrate the damage to plants and flowers from water contaminated with fluorides at the concentrations used to artificially fluoridate public drinking water supplies.
https://www.fluoridationfacts.com/au...ts_flowers.htm
Many municipal water supplies contain fluoride, which is a plant toxin. Perlite, a common soil conditioner that also contains fluoride, can contribute to fluoride toxicity.

Fluorides in the environment: effects on plants and animals.
Fluoride can stunt the plant's growth, but the bigger problem is bioaccumulation of the fluoride in the plants which you eat, which means you get more fluoride. Bioaccumulation means that once these toxins are dumped onto plants and soil, they are very hard to get rid of. Each year tons and tons of these poisons are sprayed on farms, which then run off through the soil into streams and rivers, and eventually these poisons end up in lakes or underground aquifers. https://www.h2o.co.za/blog/?cat=1&paged=3

Tom ~ There's LOTS of info on-line about fluoride's insidious presence in agriculture, even in organic produce. Here are some articles (with excerpts) for you to check out in more details:
1) Fluoride: The Hidden Poison in the National Organic Standards
By Ellen & Paul Connett, PhD | Pesticides and You, Vol. 21, No. 1, 2001
https://fluoridealert.org/content/fl...nic-standards/
[Editors Note: This article raises serious health questions about the continued use of fluoride in food production, specifically organic farming systems, and in public water supplies. It leads to a larger discussion of allowable inert or secret product ingredients and permitted synthetic materials in organic agriculture under the national organic standards, adopted in December 2000. However, it should be noted that chemical-intensive practices in conventional agricultural systems incorporate polluting practices that also result in fluoride contamination and other pollution problems of a magnitude that far exceeds organic practices. Nevertheless, as consumers and farmers seek to improve and purify organic practices, we must face the challenges raised by Ellen and Paul Connett's article and others.]
2) "While not all crops uptake fluoride from water in the same amounts, many absorb significant amounts of fluoride through their root systems every time they are watered. TEA plants, for instance, are among the worst when it comes to absorbing fluoride from soil and water, and storing it in their leaves (https://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocent...chemicals/tea/). GRAPES are another crop that tends to accumulate fluoride in high levels as well."

Grapes! Hmmmm.....Do YOU think Sonoma county vintners ought to be concerned and on the anti-fluoride bandwagon?

3) How the USDA Organic Standard Allowed Fluoride to Contaminate Organic Food
https://12160.info/forum/topics/how-...to-contaminate
"There are many reasons to no longer trust the USDA organic label, however history gives a good lesson on why you should never confide in this government agency. The original standards proposed in 1997 by the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) revised rule on National Organic Standards (NOS) was first finalized in 2000. The standards first proposed included proposals to use sewage sludge, irradiation, antibiotics in livestock, and genetically modified organisms. The USDA withdrew the proposal after receiving over 275,000 comments from the public– the most comments received on any US agency proposal in history. In the final NOS, the four practices listed above were left out, but unfortunately, despite opposition, those public concerns about fluoride were ignored. To this day, the organic standards allow the use of the toxic sodium fluoride in organic agriculture.
Fluoride is a persistent and non-degradable poison that accumulates in soil, plants, wildlife, [livestock, pets] and humans. Many organic farmers may be unaware that this highly toxic substance has been allowed for use in the NOS, because its presence is hidden. However, it is there..." (Read more at the link)
