In case you were wondering about the cartoonist ...Ben Garrison - Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Garrison
Ben Garrison is an American right-wing political cartoonist. He is a self-described libertarian whose cartoons have been widely promoted among the alt-right.

It's good to see the other point of view. But I must point out that Donald Trump himself is the supreme master of gum violence!
Re: Best of Political Humor - August 2019
Gum Violence is pretty much standard fare for ALL in DC for the moment,
Yes it would be very nice to find a day where real talk will replace the blaring noise, but there is a LOT of house cleaning to be done on both/all sides of the political professional class.
When one joins the class as a regular professional, you have to leave all parts of the consciousness and common sense at the door.
Maybe brighter days can come!!!
Thanks,
Ken.

Barry,
And you think that this is FUNNY???
What type of dialogue does this support???
You think that this is a good way to support some type of positive values???
I really question your values both in the type of humor that you seem to enjoy as well as this,
I do not see this as doing anything to promote a more reasonable and humane type of society.
It is one thing to see the world through liberal or conservative eyes in regards to how we want to create a more peaceful and productive society as to the style of leadership that we like to align with recognizing that we may not be fully aware on what that leadership's true agenda's might be and are open to discussion,
And, it is another to think that this type of stuff supports some type of peaceful and positive purpose.
I do not think that this type of post is of good taste and does not support much of what I would like to believe is your best intention for this group.
Maybe I am wrong and this is what your group is for, in which case I may be the outsider for expecting a more reasonable type of open and friendly discussion.
Thanks,
Ken.

How does this differ in content and spirit from the "humor" you post, Ken?

Yessir, Ken, nothing scarier or more violent than dropping birth control and atheist literature from a pussy pink plane! You definitely have my sympathy, if not my agreement.

This is a rollicking masterpiece of satire, Tommy Lee! Thank you!
Re: Best of Political Humor - August 2019
Good question, Ken. Think about it...

Re: Best of Political Humor - August 2019
It's satire, Ken, and a humorous release of anger and disgust! I sympathize that you can't appreciate the humor because it goes against your own points of view, but I am not so uptight liberal that I can't appreciate the fairly violent liberal-trashing that is expressed in the cartoons submitted by you and Ray. (Whatever became of Ray?) I hope you can find a way to lighten up, appreciate the wild left-wing fantasy for what it is, and not take it all so literally.

OKKK,
Yes I get it, just a bit much all at once, caught me at a bad time and a bit of overload with life.
All in good fun,
Thanks,
:))

I couldn't agree more. Reasonable discussion is what will steady the Ship of State. But it seems the Left has violence in their hearts. Tommy not using satire, he is expressing retribution and the need for payback for a lost election. How does one discuss anything with a violent, angry person?

a little context for you: http://www.art-bin.com/art/omodest.html -- he's not really advocating butchering humans.
Tommy is reflecting (with a little hyperbole, but not much) the descriptions we get from Rush et al about what the lefties will do when they take over. He's owning it, saying "yep, you guys are right -- this is exactly what we'll do". Sorry to be patronizing but it's hard to explain humor without sounding that way.
Re: Best of Political Humor - August 2019
You say the LEFT has violence in their hearts?! So what does the Right have in their hearts? Cuts for Medicare, whopping tax cuts for millionaires, loathing non-white immigrants, snatching children away from their poor and desperate families, and on and on... This is sweetness and love? And who is more violent and angry than Donald Trump? What planet are you living on, cyberanvil??

Re: Best of Political Humor - August 2019
Ken, I really appreciate your ability to consider feedback and respond like this. You sound like you are probably a really nice guy who somehow does not perceive the Trumpsters as the heartless jerks that many of the rest of us do. I had that feeling about Ray, too. I'm very interested in trying to understand people like you, and that's why I'm so happy that you and other people with a more right wing point of view have been daring to post on this mostly leftist site. Share on!

Here is a thought. Humor that has to be explained is not humorous.
Re: Best of Political Humor - August 2019
On the other hand, some people just lack a sense of humor and/or have limited imaginations.

Yea, I've heard a bit of Ganja cures that. :ew:

I've moved Ken's post (about supporting Trump) to a new thread in the National & International Politics category called "Discussions with Trump supporters".
If you would like to participate or follow this discussion please go to the new thread and click Gratitude.
Perhaps we can help Ken and company see the light. :waccosun:
