Backpacking suggestions for the not as strong as I used to be
I'm looking for a backpacking camp area within 3-4 hours drive of Sebastopol that will get me away from the parking lot and RVs without killing me. I guess that means a couple hours walk with pack is fine, but not if there is too much elevation change. Put on your thinking caps, and share privately if you don't want your favorite spot overrun. I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order. -- John Burroughs

Pt. Reyes has great backpacking options. 1 hour drive. We backpack with our young children there. Sky Camp and Coast camp are the easiest/shortest hikes.
I'd love to hear about more options!

Point Reyes. You can get a permit by calling I think.
Santa Cruz has the Skyline to Sea Trail. Get dropped off at the top and take 3 easy days to get to the coast.Goes thru Big Basin SP.
