CALL CITY OF SANTA ROSA to support Occupy Santa Rosa

Hi,

The dozens of folks who are occupying the lawn in front of City Hall are being forced to take all their gear back to Peace and Justice Center each evening and then go and sit in the cold. They have no place to go to bathroom, they can't have their sleeping bags to keep warm, they cannot put up tents.

One way we can help them is to encourage the City to do the right thing and let them occupy the site. The City Council has a meeting on Tuesday afternoon. Let's call before that to let them know how supported this movement is in Sonoma County!

Call the City of Santa Rosa ~ 707-543-3010 ext. 0 and ask the Mayor and Council Members to allow the Occupy Santa Rosa to have tents/sleeping bags and be able to sleep on site. Ask them to also allow a bathroom on site, either open a public one or allow a porta-potty.
Let them know that hundreds of cities across the nation are allowing the free speech of this movement.

The Occupy Santa Rosa encampment can stay until the City Council meeting this Tuesday, Nov. 1, at which time the Council will decide the fate of the Occupation. These are desperate times and it is important that OSR remain with an ongoing visible presence in solidarity with the 99% -- that's all of us. So, attend the Santa Rosa City Council meeting, Tuesday. There will be public comment taken sometime after 5pm. We can pack the City Council chamber in support of the encampment and demand that OSR has a moral right to stay.
