Graton Fire Station: fire danger on your west side!
driving on road parallel to Hwy. 116, behind Graton Fire Station (is it Hicks?) i noticed some "Christmas" trees had been cut (many with 2" - 4" diameter trunks at the base cut) and then left between the rows. This isn't just one or two trees; there are dozens.
they are all dry and ready to burn? is someone going to take those away?
here is hoping everyone has a safe and fire-free fourth!
Re: Graton Fire Station: fire danger on your west side!
Hi 2Bwacco,
As part of the ongoing maintenance of the tree farm, the dead and dying trees are cleared each year. They are pulled out of the rows and stacked in preparation to be chipped. That starts tomorrow and should be done by Wednesday. The tree farm manager waits for the trees to dry for the chipper to work best.
Hope that helps explain things. Thanks, Bill
