We are wondering if anyone in wacco land has experience traveling in Costa Rica in July....we can get a good deal but wonder if its because it is not a good time to go, weather wise....this trip crisscrosses the country so it is not just one region....and the weather is the weather, always changing and yet....would love to get some feedback. thanks , janet and gene 823-5076
Re: Costa Rica in July???? Whatcha think?
The rainy season begins in May and ends in November. Typically and very generally, July tends to have sunny mornings and intense heavy rain / thunder storms in the afternoon. This is general as CR is affected predominantly by Caribbean weather except on the Pacific coast....northern coast is vastly different than the southern coast. Wildlife varies in all parts of the country, but sightings are usually excellent during July and August.
The rain is always warm, but be prepared for it......a good rains uit and travelling umbrella are highly recommended. I also suggest an excellent pair of close-toed amphibious shoes. I prefer ones that don't allow any rocks to get in. Currently I use Keen Mackenzies when exploring in Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
I explore and run adventure trips in both countries. We are building a new website, but our CR trips can be seen at www.soar2costarica.com
Let me know if you have other questions about CR. I love the country, its people, and many wonderful adventure opportunities.
