Letter to Jeff Bezos - Amazon CEO
Dear Mr. Bezos,
I’m sorry to read reports that Amazon has, at the request of Joe Lieberman and/or the Department of Homeland Security, cancelled Wikileaks hosting. Is that true? If so, why?
For the time being, I’m cancelling plans to include you in my shopping. This holiday season, Instead of sending Amazon gift certificates, I’ll just send checks. The same for birthdays throughout the year.
No cause for alarm on your part, I suppose. It’ll only amount to something under $2,000 a year in lost revenue for Amazon. And how many of your regular customers are feeling as strongly as I do about the Wikileaks issue? 5% maybe?
With regret,
Karl Frederick

I closed my Paypal account for the same reason. Paypal shut down Wikileaks access to their own money.
Re: Letter to Jeff Bezos - Amazon CEO
I have decided to open a paypal account.

But Paypal just did the same thing, didn't they? I sent an email to Jeff Bezos, but how am I gonna buy stuff online if I don't use Amazon, Paypal, or Visa??

Sara,
I have the same question. A couple days ago I ordered something from Amazon and by the time it was delivered I was so angry to have supported them. I don't have an answer yet but I do think resistance is not always comfortable.
